Haig Haroutunian is the best physical therapist I have known during my 40 years as a practicing physician (also through four episodes of getting PT as a patient myself from other therapists when living outside the Adaptive service area). He applies his high intelligence, wide and deep knowledge, and impeccable skills to great benefit. For the past fourteen months, Haig has been helping my elderly brother cope with the effects of a stroke and Parkinson's Disease. Thanks to the outstanding efforts that Haig brings to each and every session, my brother can walk with a walker and ride a stationary bike for thirty minutes every day. The superb relationship forged between therapist and patient also has had splendid effects on my brother's mood. attitude, cognition, and social interactions. Haig is encouraging without hectoring and optimistic without being a patronizing Pollyanna. He has an uncanny sense of when and how to push a bit more during a session or to back off until the next time. Haig is perceptive and insightful, articulate and forward thinking, and wise beyond his years. My brother has a complicated medical history---including diabetes since age nine---and he's seen many physicians and other medical professionals at world renowned teaching hospitals over the decades. Haig ranks with the very best of these. No one has had a more salutary effect on my brother's health. As I continue to teach medical students, I just hope they will become as exemplary practitioners of their specialties as Haig is of his. That will happen only if they wed intelligence to kindness, knowledge to judgement, and skills to character as well as he does. We hired Adaptive Homecare to do in person home PT for an elderly friend with Alzheimer's, who needed to improve his mobility to better (and more safely) get around his home and ensure he has some independent mobility when going out for appointments. Adaptive Health was extremely responsive and had a Physical therapist lined up for us quickly. They have great communication, and the Physical Therapist is very patient and already making progress. Every nurse has been knowledgeable, professional, kind… and on time.
